Summer Lunch Program
Help Seven Loaves Food Pantry & Community Center and City Square provide over 43,000 lunches to children in need.  
The 2012 Summer Lunch Program is for PISD children and their siblings who rely on free or reduced-price lunches during the school year.  For many, this is the only meal they receive each day.  Be a part of one of the 7 volunteer crews to distribute FREE healthy lunches across Plano, M-F 6/4 - 8/24 this summer!  We are also looking for Host Teams (willing to "adopt and host" one of 7 sites), Weekly Site Managers (supervise volunteers for a week - any of 5-7 sites) and Advance Promotion Team (distribute door hangers, posters, flyers - get the word out to kids about FREE lunches this summer right in their neighborhoods!).

Hi -

My name is Ethan and today I turned 4 years old.  I decided to have a "party with a purpose" to celebrate my birthday.  I asked my friends to bring canned goods instead of gifts.  I also asked my friends to bring their wagons so we could go door to door together and collect even more cans.  My mom and dad weighed everything on our bathroom scale and it turns out we collected 391 lbs of food!  Some people decided to give money.  My mom said we collected $72!  Wow, those are big numbers!

I would like to donate the food to Seven Loaves.

 


The Seven Loaves Food Pantry & CommUnity Center is committed to holistically serving people in need in Plano, Texas and Collin County.  We seek to meet the basic needs for food to all who are food insecure and access to health care and social services of those at and below the poverty level.


Over 100,000 people in Collin County,  half of which are children, are food insecure.  Seven Loaves Food Pantry, in partnership with North Texas Food Bank and Plano Independent School District, desires to help see that all Collin County residents have the nutrition they need.


Seven Loaves Food Pantry is working with the North Texas Food Pantry to Close the Gap on hunger in North Texas by establishing a "hub and spoke" distribution system which will provide over 1 million meals a year into Collin County.  

 


Seven Loaves CommUnity Center currently provides supplemental food, social services and clothing to individuals and families in need based on the Texas Commodity Assistance Program(TEXCAP) income guidelines.  All services are provided to low income, qualified individuals and families without regard to race, citizenship, religious beliefs and without proselytizing.
