In cooperation with the North Texas Food Bank, Seven Loaves Food Pantry is a local food pantry serving residents of all Collin county zip codes. Basic grocery items are provided to individuals and families as a supplement to their monthly needs. At an average cost of 28¢ per pound of food, Seven Loaves is able to maximize the value of every donated dollar. Eligible individuals and families are able to obtain healthy food as a grocery supplement once a month. One time emergency food distributions are available without regard to residency. Seven Loaves Food Pantry & CommUnity Center currently provides:

·         supplemental food

·         free, gently used clothing

·         Food 4 Kids

·         assistance in accessing available county social services

·         periodic needs such as school supplies (for existing pantry clients)

Assistance is provided to individuals and families in need based on the Texas Commodity Assistance Program (TEXCAP) income guidelines. All services are provided to low-income qualified individuals, and families, without regard to race, citizenship, religious beliefs, and without proselytizing.

 

Food 4 Kids is a weekly meal program that Seven Loaves supports in partnership with the North Texas Food Bank and the Plano Independent School District. Hundreds of children, in Plano ISD, go home on Friday and may not have anything to eat until they return to school on Monday.  Food 4 Kids provides healthy food for the weekend to over 1,000 students each month.  Each Friday elementary school children in need are provided a backpack of kid-friendly healthy food so they can be assured of having something to eat over the weekend.

Open Thursdays, 4 - 6:30 p.m. & Saturdays 9 a.m. - 12 noon. 
·         Not open July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas   Day, and New Years Eve and New Years Day


Information required to be served:
·         Seven Loaves serves Neighbors who reside in a Collin County   zip code.
·         Photo I.D. for all adults in the family on the first visit

    (copy of I.D. for absent spouses, grown children, etc. is O.K.)*

·         Some type of I.D. for all children in the family on the first visit

  (S.S. card, Birth Certificate, School Record, etc.)*

·         Utility (or similar) bill showing proof of residency at the address   that they register as home address


* We will not turn someone away if they do not have this, but will ask them to bring it the next time.


Clothing:

Through its clothing service unit, Joseph's Coat, Seven Loaves distributes free, gently used clothing to registered pantry clients.  Each family may select clothing for registered members of their one time each month.  A Joseph's Coat voucher for service is available through Seven Loaves client intake.

Joseph's Coat Hours are Thursdays from 4 - 6 pm, not open Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Year's Eve or New Year's Day.

·         Must present clothing voucher available through Seven Loaves client registration

·         Must present photo ID

May visit 1 time a month.

HEALTH EDUCATION - Education around nutritional diet is an essential part of both the Grocery Supplement and the Food 4 Kids programs. Participants learn about cost effective healthy choices and how to apply those choices to their lives.

 

SOCIAL SERVICES ASSISTANCE - Clients of the Seven Loaves Food Pantry will have the opportunity to connect with many other helpful programs such as food stamps, Women, Infants and Children (WIC), Children’s Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Both programs offer health care benefits, including regular checkups and dental care.

 

 

WEST SIDE CLINIC - Seven Loaves is collaborating with the West Side Clinic, a new site of the Collin County Adult Clinic which serves Plano and Collin County by providing limited primary medical care to uninsured adults of Collin County.  Although there are over 750,000 residents of Collin County, over 125,000 do not have medical insurance.  CCAC is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation, which depends on an all-volunteer health provider force.  Patients are seen by appointment only. SEASONAL ASSISTANCE - Seven Loaves provides other assistance to its registered clients throughout the year on a seasonal basis. 

  • BACK TO SCHOOL - To help Collin County children get back to school on the right foot, Seven Loaves provides new shoes, back packs, school supplies and jeans on a limited and first come first served basis. 
  • HOLIDAY FOOD - During the holidays, Seven Loaves provides special & extra holiday food.
  • SUMMER LUNCH BOX - During the summer, Seven Loaves provides healthy lunches for school aged children who normally depend on free and reduced lunches during the school year.
